About the performance

이날치는 수궁가를 노래한다. 수궁가는, 용왕이 병이 들자 약에 쓸 토끼의 간을 구하기 위해 육지로 나온 자라가 토끼를 유인하여 용궁으로 데리고 가지만, 토끼가 꾀를 내어 용왕을 속이고 다시 뭍으로 살아돌아온다는 이야기를 판소리로 짠 것이다.
