필리핀의 수도 마닐라에는 화려한 빌딩 숲에 가려진 “바세코”라는 지역이 있다 바닷가 쓰레기 더미 위에 지어진 낡은 판잣집이 즐비한 이곳은 오래된 가난속에 하루 한끼도 해결하지 못하는 아이들이 힘겹게 살아가고 있는 곳이다 가난과 무지의 굴레에 매여 마약,매춘,인신매매,장기매매 등의 위험한 환경에 노출된 아이들은 무엇보다 굶주린 배를 채워줄 따듯한 밥 한끼와, 미래의 대한 꿈과 희망을 키워 나갈 수 있는 교육이 절실히 필요하다
